Biru's Story - India Case Study - Secondary
A case study and series of activities for secondary students about Biru, a man living in India. He lost mobility in one of his legs after contracting polio as a child and faced numerous challenges due to his disability including access to employment opportunities and poverty. Biru taught himself how to repair bikes, and with the support of Caritas Australia and its partners, was able to join the Community Led Development and Governance (Gram Nirman) program which effectively helped him grow it into a business that would help generate income and support his family.Â
